Some messages can’t wait.

Pickup plans change. Practice ends early. Sometimes you just need to know they're okay.

So you text. And you wait. And you can tell they're on their phone. The story went up. The dot is green. They're right there. And your message is still sitting unread.

It's not that they're ignoring you. Their phone is built to hold their attention, and it's very good at its job. Your message landed under three group chats and an endless feed, and it never had a chance.

So you text again. You call. You worry.

There should be a better way to get through.

Your options right now aren't great.

Take the phone away. Install a tracker. Or keep texting into the void and hope.

Location apps tell you where your teen is. They don't tell you your teen saw your message, and they don't get them to answer. So you're still chasing, and now you're monitoring too.

How Herd works

Send. Pause. Respond. Three simple steps when your message can’t wait.

01

Send a signal

Choose your teen and the check-in they need to see.

02

Pause the noise

Herd is designed to temporarily pause distracting apps, while calls, texts, navigation, and emergency services remain available.

03

Get a response

Once your teen responds, the signal ends and their phone returns to normal.

Attention, not surveillance.

You shouldn't have to monitor your teen's every move just to know an important message was noticed.

Herd is built for communication, not surveillance. No location tracking. No message reading. No constant monitoring. Just a clear way to get through when something matters.

Built by parents who needed a better way.

We're Aaron and Suzi, parents of four, including three teenagers.

Herd started with a familiar frustration: knowing one of our kids had their phone and still not being able to reach them when plans changed or something mattered. We didn't want more monitoring. We wanted a respectful way to say: Hey. This one matters.

So we built Herd with our teenagers, not just for them. Every signal, every pause, every way out got tested against one question: would a teenager accept this, or resent it?

Less chasing. Less worrying. A response when it matters.

No repeated texts. No wondering whether your message vanished into the noise. Just a clear way to get your teen's attention, hear back, and get on with the day.

We're inviting a small group of families to be among the first to use Herd and to tell us what works.
